Starting a small candle?
I would like to start a small family business with my sisters to share paid jar candles and cupcake ideas on how and where to start? Where do you get a logo and printed labels? how to split the profits? How can we decide what to charge for our product?
There are many details involved in starting a business. It becomes even more complicated when you have business partners. Here are some points to consider: 1. Identify local and state enterprises and the manufacturing requirements for permission (many areas do business or manufacturing certain property designated areas, especially with some kind of flammable and potentially hazardous as candles) 2. Sit on the civil liability insurance – candles can cause fires – Especially if you are inexperienced and do not know what you're doing! 3. Especially with partners, should consider forming an LLC for your business with an agreement of association prepared by an attorney in April. Current research and future trends in candles and home fragrance products – you want your prodiucts stay ahead trends – not behind them in May. Determining the costs of setting up supplies and materials and do not forget to include additional funds for "mistakes" because end up pulling a lot of "bad" to learn 6. Budget for marketing materials such as catalogs, brochures, website and marketing costs of its products in July. Consider strategies for how you will market their products and competition from companies with a reputation and a loyal clientele. Want to market through party at home, craft shows or online? What makes your product unique or better than the competition? If nobody buys, you can not make money. 8. You may want to consider becoming an Independent Representative or distributor of an existing sailing for a year or two to get a "first hand" about industry education and marketing methods. Enjoy the companies offer free training and then if you want to continue to manufacture and sell their own candles, have a much greater chance for success.
