Led Flicker

What hz for an led lcd tv is flicker eliminated and what other specifications are good for your eyes.?
Eye health is the main objective of my tv choice (myopia). Not going with plasma because of electrical consumption and heating. I was looking at the samsung 6000 and 8500 series 120 hz and 240 hz and wondering where flicker is eliminated and what is healthiest for eyes aside from higher refresh rate
Eye health is the main objective of my tv choice (myopia). Not going with plasma because of electrical consumption and heating(my room is an oven in the summer even with ac on because a giant ass window facing the sun). I was looking at the samsung 6000 and 8500 series 120 hz and 240 hz and wondering where flicker is eliminated and what is healthiest for eyes aside from higher refresh rate
im open to plasmas now 600 hz but why doesnt the quality seem as good as the 8500 samsung? frame wise i mean i know samsung does some insert 3 frames things
If you don’t want Plasma, fine, that’s your choice. But don’t avoid Plasma based on myths. You can buy modern Plasmas that are energy star certified. They might not compete down to the penny with an LED LCD, but they are not power hogs anymore. They can probably compete to under a $1/month difference with LEDs.
Also, unless you’re planning on clogging the vents, the amount of heat a Plasma generates isn’t that big of a deal. You can touch, pickup, bump into, etc. a running/warm Plasma. It won’t scald the skin. Maybe it does run hotter than an LCD, but we’re not talking that hot.
The Plasma would help your eye issue far more than any high end LCD. If that is really your biggest concern, you need to take a better look at Plasma.
If you are sure you want LCD, then go 240Hz. It will help reduce the flicker. But look for one with more customization options. The more ability you have to turn on/off such features and say turn on/off (or just have access to) features like 24 frame playback, the more you might be able to customize a series of presets that are optimal for viewing movies vs TV. Most people prefer the TV just handles this for them, but if you’re really concerned on eye health, I suggest you get a TV that lets you customize all those flicker/anti-flicker features yourself.
