effectively lose fat diet and exercise recommendations?

I want to tone my body for a special occasion in the coming months. I'm very intense 30 minutes of daily exercise, but I wonder about what foods to eat. Since I live in a house in determining the amount of calories / protein / Fat in the diet is very difficult, as all our meals are homemade, I wondered what kind of food is recommended for optimal fat loss.
